Heart in right place - Health minister congratulates medical team

HEALTH Minister Aaron Motsoaledi yesterday praised the medical team taking care of baby Ashleigh at the Chris Hani- Baragwanath Hospital.
Motsoaledi visited the baby yesterday after her three- hour operation on Sunday. Ashleigh was born with her heart outside her chest wall 10 days ago. She underwent her first operation to correct her physical defects.

Man dies in bike crash

Johannesburg - A man died after crashing his motorcycle in Kyalami in Midrand in the early hours of Sunday morning, Gauteng paramedics said.
It is suspected the man in his thirties went on a pleasure ride with another biker along Main Road, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha.

Girl dies after fatal U-turn ..........

Johannesburg - A teenage girl was killed in a collision on the N1 South outside Polokwane in Limpopo on Sunday evening, Netcare 911 said.
A Jeep Cherokee was trying to make a U-turn on the freeway when an Isuzu 4x4 ploughed into its side, Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said.

Johannesburg - The father of a three-year-old boy, who was accidentally shot dead by police last month, has been arrested, Johannesburg police said on Friday.
Inspector Kym Cloete said police were following information on Thursday about a house robbery that took place in July this year.

10 killed in bus inferno ........................................

Cape Town - At least 10 people burnt to death on Wednesday in a horrific collision between a bus and a truck on the notorious Moloto Road north of Pretoria, ENews reported.
Nine of the dead were passengers on the bus while the tenth was the truck driver.
About 20 others were seriously injured in the crash which, according to eyewitness Pieter Oosthuizen, happened at about 18:30. At least 10 fire-trucks were at the scene.
